On Saturday, Jan. 14, Highland Community College Men's and Women's basketball teams traveled to Fort Scott Community College to open conference play.
The Hounds started off strong with Jada Williams going 3-3 with three's starting the game. The game was tied at 20 a piece with 8 minutes to go before half time. The Scottie women went on a strong run and took a 14-point lead going into halftime, 39-25.
The Hounds started the second half strong and both teams scored 28 points, the Scotties 14-point lead was too much for the Hounds to overcome. The Scotties defeated the Hounds 67-55.
The Hounds were led by Jayla Bibbs continuing her double- double brigade with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jada Williams had 12 points, 2 assists and 3 boards. Kennedy Moss chipped in 8 points, 3 assists and 4 rebounds.
The Hounds are back in action tonight traveling to Johnson County Community College.
