Title: Head Coach

The 2018-2019 academic year will mark as Fort Scott Community College’s first year participating in NJCAA Cross Country. Head Coach Ryan Pulsifer will be entering his first year as a Head Coach after holding as Allen Community College’s assistant coach for the past two years. The newly instated program will be a member of NJCAA Region 6, made up of the East & West Kansas Jayhawk Conferences. This Region is wildly known as one of the most completive in the entire NJCAA, with 2 or more Top 10 teams every year. In the Early stages of the FSCC program Coach Pulsifer plans to build with local runners from all of southeast Kansas, mixed in with true freshman athletes from all over the Midwest region. Coach Pulsifer believes that in a few years the Greyhounds could also be a competitive program with a training regimen planned around developing high school athletes through high mileage, proper strength training and constant rehabilitation.

Coach Pulsifer hopes to see the program grow into a successful system that focuses on the student athlete’s ability to perform on the track or course, as well as the classroom. He also wishes to develop a great relationship with the town of Fort Scott with team outreaches, fundraising, and volunteering.

While in college coach Pulsifer attended Allen Community College where he became an NJCAA Coach’s Association All American in Cross Country. After graduating from Allen he transferred to The University of Saint Mary’s in Leavenworth, Kansas to compete in the NAIA. In the two years at USM Coach Pulsifer tallied up multiple All Conference marks both in Track and Cross Country. In his final year of Cross Country he was named an NAIA All American, finishing 28th in the nation with a time of 25:11(8k).
