Coach Philip Redrick, 1st Year as Head Cross Country/Track Coach, has had a lot of success for a new program. The XC and Track became ranked for the 1st time in school history. XC team highest ranking was 19th and the track Team Highest ranking 23rd
Coach Redrick is also the sprint hurdles and jumps coach as well as Head Coach. 12 Athletes Qualified for the national meet under him. The sprint group was ranked top 10 in the nation. His group also set 18 School records
He also has brought in the No. 1 recruiting class for Men and Women. Over 60 athletes
Redrick is a 3x All American in Jr. College at Neosho. Signed a full-ride scholarship to run for the University of Washington and later on transferred to Texas Southern University where he became a D1-3x All American, 5x Southwestern Athletic Champion (SWAC), broke 3x SWAC records and 8 school at Texas Southern University records. He was named the fastest man in SWAC history.
Redrick was also on a TV show called “The Next Olympic Hopeful”. They pick 50 men and women around the USA to battle it out for a chance to make a team and Redrick was chosen for Bobsled.
For the last four years, Redrick coached high school athletes. In four years, he has had 52 Jr. Olympic athletes, 1 National champion, and 34 All Americans.

2021 Saw Fort Scott Track go to great heights in the 1st Full year for Coach Redrick. The team won Indoor conference (women) and Outdoor conference Men/Women. 1st time in school history
Both men and women’s team ranked in the top 10 1st time in school history and the highest ranking for any program
Indoor and outdoor nationals the team had 27 All Americans
