Fort Scott Earns Fourth-Straight Victory in 80-61 Win Over Hesston

FSCC Basketball Advances to the KJCCC Semi-Finals

 

FORT SCOTT, Kan. (Mar. 5, 2024) - Fort Scott (21-10) men's basketball program defeated Neosho Community College 74-61 in the first round of the KJCCC tournament. This is the second straight KJCCC Semi-Final appearance for the Greyhounds.


FSCC shot 56.7% from the field and scored 47 points in the second half to give the 13-point victory. Andre Norris led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals. Sophomore forward Denis Kadiric shot a perfect 8-8 from the field, scoring 18 points and grabbing six rebounds. Bryce Journee also ended the night in double-figures with 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers. BJ Francis led the way with six assists to go with nine points for a collective night of scoring for the 21st victory of the season.

Defensively, the Greyhounds forced 19 turnovers and held the Panthers to less than 50% shooting from the field. Fort Scott is 16th in the country in points allowed per game, 68.3.


Fort Scott will travel to Overland Park, KS, for their semi-final match against Kansas City Kansas Community College on Friday, March 7th, at 3:00 PM. The winner will play in the KJCCC Championship the following day at 4:00 PM against the winner of Johnson County Community College and Highland Community College.
