Simon Drops 26 as Hounds take down Link Year Prep

On Saturday, the Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team defeated Link Year Prep by the score of 90-80.  The win moved the Hounds overall record to 9-5.  

Leading the way for FSCC was Peter Simon who scored 26 points and dished out 6 assists.  FSCC shot 57% from the field for the game and outrebounded the Lions 32-28.  

The first half saw clean play from both teams.  Link Year Prep shot 52% from the field and the Greyhounds 58%.  PG Peter Simon led the way, showing his lightning quickness on both sides of the floor scoring 11 points and recording 2 steals in the first half.  Nick Lawrence added 10 first half points on 5/6 shooting, and adding 6 rebounds.  At the break the Hounds had the lead 43-35.

The second half was all Simon as he picked up 3 more steals and finished the game 5/8 from 3pt. range.  Bryce Journee, Maurice Grayer, and Lawrence also scored in double figures for the Hounds.  The Lions were led by Braden Wood who scored 21 points on the night.       

The Hounds will travel to Dallas to face North Lake on the 9th, rounding out their first semester.
