Montgomery Signs with St. Mary's

Sophomore captain John Montgomery has signed with St. Mary's University in Leavenworth Kansas.  Montgomery was a starter and team captain this season for the Greyhound basketball program and played an integral part in them achieving a 20-12 record.  This is the best record in the last 28 years and only the sixth time a 20 win season has ever happened.

In his sophomore year at Fort Scott, Montgomery was named 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All Region.  John was 5th in conference in scoring, 6th in rebounds, and 3rd in Field Goal percentage.

"I am extremely proud of John and his accomplishments this year.  John not only grew on the court but also grew into a great student in the classroom.  The most difficult thing was to only be able to coach John for the conference season after he transferred to us.  But the most impressive thing was John being named to the All-Region team after only playing in the second semester.  I am honored to have coached John and look forward to watching him continue his academic and athletic career at St. Mary's University," stated Head Basketball Coach Michael Cook.
