Zinn and Montgomery Earn All-Region Honors

More honors were given to two of the Greyhounds Men's basketball players, Tyler Zinn was named to the First Team All-Region team and John Montgomery was named to the Second Team All-Region team, the sophomores were consistent and leaders for the Greyhounds in Region play and a team that accomplished the best regular season record in 28 years with 20 wins and 12 losses. Tyler Zinn a guard from Marion, KS averaged 19.6 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assist and 3 steal per game this year.  Zinn also shot 47.8 percent from the field, 43 percent from 3-point range and 82 percent from the free-throw line.  Zinn was ranked 2nd in the conference and the region, and 30th in the nation in scoring, his field goal percentage has him ranked 7th in the conference and 9th in the region, 3 pt. percentage was 2nd in the conference and 4th in the region and free throw percentage was 4th and 5th in the conference and region respectfully.

Tyler Zinn finishes his career among the all-time scoring leaders, having scored 1067 points in his two year career which ranks him third on all-time scoring, Zinn is also ranked 11th in rebounds with 220 rebounds and 5th in assist with 190 assists.

 "It has been an honor to be able to coach both of these young men and watch them grow on and off the court.  I know that both of them have better days ahead of them on and off the court and I am excited to see what the future has for both of them.  Both young men have been great examples of what we look for in a student athletes and they have been great captains for not only the freshman but the entire team," stated Head Coach Michael Cook.
