Greyhounds Come Up Short at Labette 70-68

The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team fell short at Labette on Wednesday night 70-68.

The game was tied at halftime, 32-32 and Labette was able to outscore the Greyhounds in the second half 38-36.

The Greyhounds posted five players in double figures including four starters. Dontrell Sanders led the way as he posted 17 points on eight of 10 shooting with four rebounds.

Leading scorer Tyler Zinn was held to just 13 points but he added nine assists and four steals.

John Montgomery and Jayden Davis added 12 and 11 points respectively and Andre Nelson chipped in with 10 points.

FSCC hit nearly 46% of its shots in the game including nine of 24 from three point land and nine of 13 from the free throw line.

Labette shot 49% overall and 40% from three points range. They were led in scoring by Justin Newman who finished with 16 points on six of nine shooting.

Greyhounds drop to 18-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play. They'll travel to Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday and will follow the women's game with tip-off's scheduled for 2:00 and 4:00.
