Greyhounds Extend Winning Streak With 79-65 Victory vs. KCK

The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team ran its winning streak to eight with a conference home victory over Kansas City Kansas Community College on Wednesday night at Arnold Arena, 79-65.

The Greyhounds were able to build on a good start as they led 41-29 at halftime. KCK was able to hang around in the second half as the Hounds weren't able to pull away but still were able to outscore the Blue Devils 38-36 in the second half.

Fort Scott was nearly unstoppable offensively hitting 30 of their 50 shots total, good for 60% from the field including 10 of 21 from three point range.

The Greyhounds' leading scorer Tyler Zinn continued to show why he is one of the best in the conference totaling 26 points along with five rebounds and five steals. John Montgomery has been a key addition to FSCC as he put together another solid night finishing with 17 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Dontrell Sanders also finished in double figures with 12 points and seven rebounds.

KCK was led in scoring by Sterling Hicks and Juwan Davenport with 26 and 22 points respectively.

The Greyhounds have won eight games in a row and 12 of their last 13 games. They'll look to continue that stretch on Saturday with a road conference tilt at Johnson County. Tip time is scheduled for 4:00 following the women's contest.
