Julia McVey enters her second season coaching at the collegiate level and first season as the Head Volleyball Coach, bringing a strong passion for player development and team culture. Prior to coaching at the college level, McVey spent three years coaching club at Ozark Juniors in Fayetteville, AR where she focused on skill fundamentals, teamwork, and helping young athletes develop both on and off the court.

 

A native of Aurora, Missouri, McVey was a standout athlete at Aurora High School, where she played varsity volleyball all four years. Her high school career included three All-Conference and All-District selections, as well as an All-State honor in her senior season. She helped lead her team to three District Championships. McVey went on to play one season at Neosho County Community College before transferring to continue her studies at the University of Arkansas, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in General Business.

 

McVey’s coaching philosophy centers on creating a welcoming and supportive environment where student-athletes are empowered to grow both as players and as individuals. She is committed to fostering excellence in the gym and encouraging academic success in the classroom.
