FORT SCOTT, Kan. (Apr. 15, 2024)—

Sophomore pitcher Natalia Sewell breaks the all-time strikeout record in Fort Scott Softball history. The Lady Hounds' previous strikeout holder was Delanie Freeze, who had 142; Sewell surpassed that on Saturday with 149 on the season. She is currently in the top 20 in the country in this category. 

 

Game 1

In the first game, Sewell showcased her talents, securing her 14th victory of the season with eight strikeouts in nearly six innings of work. Halle Hance demonstrated her offensive strength with her fifth home run of the season, three RBIs, and Avery Ragsdale, with two hits and one RBI. Ragsdale's 23 RBIs on the season are a testament to her consistent performance. 

 

Game 2

The Lady Hounds won 5-3 in the 11th inning to finish the day. Halle Hance and Paiten Reavis both had home runs, with Hance bringing in two runs. Paiten Reavis and Caroline Wilhelm each had two hits and one run. Maddy Cole recorded her ninth victory of the season to keep in a favorable position in the KJCCC standings.

They will be facing off against Northeastern Oklahoma AM College in two thrilling games at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM in Miami, OK.
