Landa and Sewell Sweep KJCCC Week 2 Awards

FORT SCOTT, Kan. (Feb. 21, 2024) - The Fort Scott Community College Softball team takes home the hitter and pitcher awards for the week. Sophomore first baseman Marisela Landa had a huge week for the Lady Hounds. She went 8-for-11 with three home runs, three doubles with six RBI's and seven runs scored. Landa is currently hitting .652 this season in their eight total games. 

Sophomore pitcher Natalia Sewell went 2-0 with 23 strikeouts and zero walks in her two starts. She struck out 16 batters on Saturday against Eastern Oklahoma State during game two. She only allowed six hits and one earned run over 11 innings of work. 

The Lady Hounds will return to the mound Friday as they face Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at 4:00 PM and North Iowa Area Community College at 6:00 PM, with both of these games being played in Fort Scott.
