Game 1

Fort Scott Community College defeated Ottawa University JV 7-4 thanks to a strong start.  Fort Scott Community College scored on an error, a double by Paiten Reavis, and a groundout by Ally Bartley in the second inning.

After Ottawa University JV scored two runs in the top of the fifth, Fort Scott Community College answered with two of their own.  Ottawa University JV scored when Butts singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.  Fort Scott Community College then answered when Julia Paisley drew a walk, scoring one run and Saedra Allen singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Maddy Cole led things off on the rubber for Fort Scott Community College. The righty surrendered three runs on six hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out five.

Hudson led things off in the circle for Ottawa University JV. The bulldog allowed three hits and four runs over one and one-third innings.

Fort Scott Community College racked up ten hits in the game.  Reavis, Hance, and Paisley each collected two hits to lead Fort Scott Community College.

 

 

Game 2

Fort Scott Community College bested Ottawa University JV in a high-scoring affair, 10-7.

Ottawa University JV opened up scoring in the first inning.  Bond doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Fort Scott Community College pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning.  In the third Julia Hess singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Brittany Winchester tripled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, and Olivia Morris doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Ottawa University JV scored three runs in the fifth inning.

Winchester was the winning pitcher for Fort Scott Community College. The righthander went four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits, striking out four and walking zero.  Jenni Jennings threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Jennings recorded the last seven outs to earn the save for Fort Scott Community College.

Fort Scott Community College tallied nine hits.  Paiten Reavis and Hess each managed multiple hits for Fort Scott Community College.  Hess and Reavis each collected two hits to lead Fort Scott Community College.

The Hounds are back in action on Sunday February 19th when they take on Kirkwood.
