Men Place 2nd in Conference, Raymond and Tratnyek earn All-Conference

Iola, Ks., (Oct. 26, 2019)- The Men and Women raced in the Region VI meet right down the road in Iola, KS Saturday morning. The meet was hosted by Allen Community College and was ran on the Allen County Country Club.

The Greyhounds placed 2nd in the Jayhawk East conference meet ahead of ranked foes Highland and Cowley while only behind Allen in the scoring. In the Region scoring the Men were up on #10 Colby with 1 mile to go but did not have the finish on the day. The Men took 5th place behind four top 10 foes.

Derek Tratnyek led the way for the Greyhounds with a 26:49 to place 4th in the conference. Raymond Longoria followed behind Tratnyek with a 27:05 and 7th place finish. Both Men earned All-Conference honors.

Reece Watson was the next finisher for the Greyhounds running a 27:48 while Albert Maliko ran a 28:38 and Brendan Mack rounded out the top 5 in 29:01.

Katelyn Yeamans was the sole runner for the ladies running 23:30 for the day.

The Men compete next at the NJCAA National Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico on November 9. Men race at 11 AM MST.
