Greyhounds Shine at Maple Leaf Invitational

Baldwin City, Kan. – A pair of Fort Scott Cross Country freshmen made impressive debuts for the Greyhounds this past weekend. The Greyhounds opened up at the ZK Maple Leaf Invitational hosted by Baker University on Saturday.

Derek Tratnyek was the first to cross the line for the Greyhounds finishing 10th place while fellow Freshman Reece Watson earned a top 20 finish placing 17th.

Sophomore Katelyn Yeamans was the top finisher for the women covering the 4k course in 20:12.

The guys finished with a total score of 124 to place 5th. Baker was the Men's team champion scoring 36 points while Benedictine was the Women's team champion scoring 32 points.

The Greyhounds are back in action on September 21st, when they head down to Joplin, Mo., for the Missouri Southern Stampede.
