Football Back in the National Rankings
The Fort Scott Community College Greyhound football team has started the year 2-0, and have been named as one of the top 20 teams in the country. The NJCAA polls were released September 3rd with the Hounds ranked #20. With victories against conference rivals Highland Community College (20-16) and Coffeyville Community College (40-29), the Hounds find themselves in a great position for the remainder of the season. After the two games, the Hound defense is ranked #1 in the NJCAA.
The Jayhawk conference is largely considered as the top home in all of junior college football, and the polls show that 2019 is no different. 5 of the 8 teams in the conference are receiving votes to be ranked, with Hutchinson Community College topping the polls at #1. The Greyhounds have a bye week before hosting Hutch on September 14th at 7:00pm at Frary Field.
