Greyhound Baseball Countdown 2 Days

With the adjustment to the schedule due to weather, we are now at 2 days until opening day for the Greyhounds. Today the program honors Kaden Shaffer from Ottawa, Kansas. Shaffer leaves the program as arguably the most decorated player in program history. Some of his accolades include:

  • 1st all-time in runs scored (112)
  • 2nd all-time in career hits (147)
  • 4th all-time in career doubles (27)
  • Tied for 6th all-time in triples (4)
  • 7th all-time in home runs (17)
  • 6th all-time RBI's (89)

Currently Shaffer is attending Emporia State University. Head Coach John Hill III shared his thoughts on Kaden Shaffer:

"I loved coaching Kaden; he played the game all out all the time. No to mention the kid could really hit. He was a lead by example type of kid, very quiet but always setting a good example for guys around him. I'm going to miss having him around this season."

Greyhound Baseball is set to begin its season February 15th against Cloud County at the LaRoche Complex in Fort Scott. Game time is set for 2:00
