Greyhounds Start Season 4-0

The Greyhounds played host this past weekend at the FS Tourney, going 4-0 to start the season.

In match one, the Greyhound faced Ottawa JV.  The Greyhounds won the match 3-1.  Sophomore, Hana Ronnebaum, had 11 kills, Mykah Wingerter had 10 kills, Sophie Mader led the team in assists, while Emily Jackson and Laney Ward each tallied 11 digs.

In match two, the Greyhounds took on Labette, winning 3-0.  The Greyhounds had 35 total kills, led by Mykah Wingerter with 12 kills.  Sophie Mader had 34 assists and Emily Jackson tallied 11 digs.  

On day two of the tournament, the Hounds faced Allen County.  The Hounds won 3-0, led by Hana Ronnebaum with seven kills and 11 digs.  Emily Jackson also tallied 11 digs for the Greyhounds.

To end the tournament, the Greyhounds faced conference foes Labette.  The Hounds won 3-0, to move to 4-0 on the season.  They were led by sophomore outside, Mykah Wingerter and freshman middle Carly Spencer, who each tallied eight kills.  Freshman setter, Sophie Mader, had 35 assists and freshman defensive specialist Abbie Casper had 14 digs.

"It is always good to start the season 4-0.  We saw a lot of great things this weekend and look forward to getting back in the gym on Monday to get better for Cowley," said Coach Hill.

The Greyhounds are back in action on Wednesday, August 29th for the first conference match-up versus Cowley at 6:30pm at Arnold Arena.
