Game 1 Recap

Fort Scott Community College defeated Hesston College 10-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Saedra Allen induced a groundout from Mari Gerber to finish off the game.

Fort Scott Community College secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the second inning.  Fort Scott Community College's offense in the inning came from a single by Paiten Reavis,  by Kennedi Christian, a home run by Katie Thompson, and an error on a ball put in play by Olivia Morris. Fort Scott Community College got things moving in the first inning.  Julia Paisley singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Fort Scott Community College put up eight runs in the second inning.  Thompson, Reavis, Christian, and Morris all drove in runs in the frame. A single by Gerber in the third inning was a positive for Hesston College.

Maddy Cole was the winning pitcher for Fort Scott Community College. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out two and walking one.  Allen threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Reese led things off in the circle for Hesston College. The hurler surrendered one run on zero hits over one-third of an inning, walking one.  Emma Killingsworth threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Fort Scott Community College hit one home run on the day. Thompson had a dinger in the second inning. Morris went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fort Scott Community College in hits.  Fort Scott Community College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Julia Hess made the most plays with  six.

Game 2 Recap 

Fort Scott Community College ran off with the lead late in the game in a 10-4 victory over Hesston College on Saturday.  The game was tied at four with Fort Scott Community College batting in the top of the sixth when an error scored one run for Fort Scott Community College.

Fort Scott Community College earned the victory despite allowing Hesston College to score four runs in the third inning.  Reese Peterson and Reese powered the big inning with RBIs.Fort Scott Community College evened things up at four in the top of the fifth inning when Hannah Williams induced Katie Thompson to hit into a fielder's choice, but three runs scored.

Jenni Jennings led things off in the pitcher's circle for Fort Scott Community College. The righty went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on two hits and walking zero.Williams led things off in the circle for Hesston College. Williams allowed 11 hits and ten runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Fort Scott Community College tallied 11 hits on the day.  Julia Paisley, Kaitlynn Hodges, and Ally Bartley all collected multiple hits for Fort Scott Community College.  Bartley, Hodges, and Paisley each collected two hits to lead Fort Scott Community College.

The Hounds are now 27-10 overall and 10-4 in confrence play.
