Game 1 Recap

NIACC Trojans Softball Runs Away with Early Lead in Victory. Fort Scott Community College fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-0 loss to NIACC Trojans Softball on Tuesday.  NIACC Trojans Softball scored on a home run by Brynnlin Kroymann and a home run by Sydney Toman in the first inning. The Fort Scott Community College struggled to contain the high-powered offense of NIACC Trojans Softball, giving up 11 runs.

NIACC Trojans Softball fired up the offense in the first inning.  NIACC Trojans Softball scored two runs when Kroymann homered. Laken Lienard was the winning pitcher for NIACC Trojans Softball. The righthander surrendered zero runs on three hits over five innings, striking out four. Jenni Jennings took the loss for Fort Scott Community College. The righty allowed four hits and six runs over two and a third innings, striking out three and walking one.

NIACC Trojans Softball socked five home runs on the day. Emily Jones had a long ball in the fourth inning. Katy Olive put one out in the fourth inning. Kroymann went yard in the first inning. Toman went deep in the first and third innings. Halle Hance, Christian, and Saedra Allen each collected one hit to lead Fort Scott Community College.

NIACC Trojans Softball collected 11 hits.  Toman, Kroymann, Olive, and Jones each had multiple hits for NIACC Trojans Softball.  NIACC Trojans Softball was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jones had the most chances in the field with six.

Fort Scott Community College Takes Victory Over NIACC Trojans Softball in Pitcher's Duel. Both teams were strong in the circle Tuesday, but Fort Scott Community College defeated NIACC Trojans Softball 3-2. Maddy Cole allowed just five hits to NIACC Trojans Softball. Fort Scott Community College got on the board in the first inning when Saedra Allen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Cole earned the win for Fort Scott Community College. Cole surrendered two runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. Brynn Stalberger took the loss for NIACC Trojans Softball. The righty surrendered three runs on four hits over six innings, striking out five.

Paiten Reavis, Allen, Olivia Morris, and Katie Thompson all had one hit to lead Fort Scott Community College.

Game 1 Recap VS SWICC

Maddy Cole threw a shutout to lead Fort Scott Community College past Southwestern cc 4-0 on Wednesday. Fort Scott Community College got on the board in the second inning when Julia Hess homered on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

A single by Peyton  Rice in the first inning was a positive for Southwestern cc. Cole was credited with the victory for Fort Scott Community College. The pitcher allowed six hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Taryn Ganstrom took the loss for Southwestern cc. The pitcher surrendered four runs on four hits over six innings, striking out two.

Fort Scott Community College launched one home run on the day. Hess put one out in the second inning. Hess went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Fort Scott Community College in hits.  Fort Scott Community College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ally Bartley had the most chances in the field with eight.

Game 2 VS SWICC RECAP

Fort Scott Community College Overcomes Southwestern cc In Face Of Early 5-Run Inning. Even though Fort Scott Community College gave up five runs in the second inning, they still defeated Southwestern cc 9-7 on Wednesday.  Southwestern cc's big inning was driven by a single by Julia Schechinger and a home run by Abbi Conrad. Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Fort Scott Community College collected six hits and Southwestern cc had eight.Southwestern cc took an early lead in the second inning.  Conrad drove in four when Conrad homered.

Fort Scott Community College evened things up at five in the bottom of the third inning when Paiten Reavis singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.Fort Scott Community College took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning.  In the fourth Ivory Rightnar singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run, Julia Hess reached on a dropped third strike, and Katie Thompson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Jenni Jennings got the win for Fort Scott Community College. Jennings went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out three and walking one.Jennifer Katz led things off on the rubber for Southwestern cc. Katz lasted one inning, allowing one hit and three runs.  Taryn Ganstrom threw five innings in relief.

Brittany Winchester started the game for Fort Scott Community College. The righthander went three innings, allowing five runs on five hits, striking out three and walking zero.

The Hounds are now 11-6.
