Hounds Softball Walks-Off Twice to Sweep NOC-Enid

On a beautiful day at Betty Ruth Field in Fort Scott, the Fort Scott Community College Lady Greyhounds gave their fans as much excitement as they could, grabbing two victories in walk-off fashion vs. Northern Oklahoma College – Enid. 

In game one, freshman Morgan Mavers led the way for the Hounds, crushing two home runs on her way to a 5 RBI performance.  Sophomore Kennedee Meier and freshman Lacey Rowe each collected 3 hits for FSCC, as the team racked up 13 hits on the day. 

Sophomore Delanie Freeze started in the circle for FSCC, and went 3IP gving up only 2ER while striking out 7.  Mavers entered the game in the 4th inning and didn't let anyone else get in to pitch.  She ended up going 4IP allowing 3ER and striking out 1. 

Going into the bottom of the 7th the score was tied at 9, however this game was not meant to go into extra innings. Lacey Rowe drove in Madison Osborne, sending the fans into the 30 minute break with a great memory. 

 

Game two also did not lack for drama, as the Hounds again walked-off in fashion.   Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. The Greyhounds collected 14 hits and Northern Oklahoma College-Enid had 12.

The Greyhounds trained 10-9 going into the bottom of the 7th, but Katie Huffman stroked a 1-2 pitch into the gap to score two runs.

Morgan Mavers pitched Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds Varsity to victory. She allowed three hits and five runs over two innings.

Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds saw the ball well in game two, racking up 14 hits in the game. Emma Fields, Makenzie Sample, Baylee Whisenhunt, Huffman, and Mavers each collected multiple hits for the Greyhounds.
