Coach Redrick Earns Coach Of the Year

Philip Redrick was named Central Region Men's Head Coach of the Year by the US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association.

FSCC Men were crowned Region 6 Team Champions for the first time in school history beating the #6, #7, and #9 teams in NJCAA.

The meet came down to the final event, the 4x400m relay where we edged out Cloud County CC for the win & to seal the team title by 0.5 points. The men also won the KJCCC East championship for 2nd time in a row.

The women won the KJCCC East Championship for the 3rd time in a row & finished 3rd in the region! Finishing the meet with numerous Nationals Qualifiers & School Records!

Coach Redrick also had 27 Members of his team that qualified for Nationals and Samuel Navarro was named the Central Region Athlete of The Year.

Coach Says this about his achievement "I'm humbled and like to thank God to be named Men's coach of the year in the Central region this is one of the top awards in the college track! I didn't do this on my own I had a lot of help from my right-hand man Jafet Molinares we built a championship program together thank you!! I like to thank Tom Havron the old AD that gave me my 1st Job as a head coach. I like to thank my athletes for putting up with me I'm very demanding of them! I like to thank everyone at Fort Scott that helped me and this program. Not many can build a program from the ground up my hard work did not go un-noticed I'm grateful for that"

Athletic Director Luke Demko says this about the Achievement: "This award shows how hard Phillip works in his recuting and craft, I am beyond excited for him and his team, they deserve all of their achievements because of how hard they work at their craft. We have a great thing going here with the track program with Phillip and Jafet, I hope to continue the success long into the future".
