The 2015-2016 sea son will be Coach Williams’s first season coaching basketball.  He comes to Fort Scott after playing four seasons of college basketball.

Coach Williams attended Salina Central High School from 2006-2010. As a junior (2008-2009), he led Central to a 3rd place finish in the 5A state basketball tournament.  In 2008-2009, Williams was also the 5A state runner up in triple Jump.  As a senior at Central, Williams averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds a game; however, the Mustangs failed to return to the state tournament. Williams earned All-State honors in basketball twice and All-League honors three times.  He was selected to play in the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All State game in 2010.

In 2010, Williams began his collegiate career at Cloud County Community College under Chad Eshbaugh. Williams’s freshman season (2010-2011) the T Birds finished with a 19-12 record. Williams started his sophomore season (2011-2012) and helped Cloud accumulate a 25-8 record. Williams also competed in triple jump and long jump at CCCC as a sophomore.

After two years at Cloud, Williams signed to play basketball at Pittsburg State. In 2012-2013, Williams red-shirted for the Gorillas. In his final season of play in 2013-2014 Williams started for the Gorillas and appeared in every game. Williams averaged 7 points and 4 rebounds a game for the Gorillas in MIAA action. Williams graduated from Pitt State with a Bachelor’s degree and is currently earning his Masters online through PSU as well.
