The Fort Scott Community College men's basketball team opened up the 2017-18 regular season with an 89-56 victory over Southwestern JV on Wednesday night at Arnold Arena.

The Greyhounds (1-0) were led by three players in double figures with both Tyler Zinn and Dontrell Sanders leading FSCC with 21 points each. Marshawn Williams finished the game with 11 points.

FSCC was efficient on offense shooting 55% from the floor, hitting nine of 25 from three point range and hitting six of nine from the free throw line.  

11 different Greyhounds played at least 11 minutes in the opener and they'll prepare for games on Friday and Saturday in Mason City, IA at the Koingmark Klassic taking on North Iowa Area Community College on Friday and Ellsworth on Saturday.

The FSCC women's basketball team, receiving votes in the first D-II of the season, will open the regular season on Friday and Saturday at Johnson County with games against North Central Missouri College and Penn Valley.
