FORT SCOTT, Kan. (Apr. 8, 2024)—The Fort Scott Community College Greyhounds won three out of the four games against Allen County. The Greyhounds improved their overall record to 32-7 and 12-4 in KJCCC play. FSCC is fourth on the East side of the KJCCC behind Johnson County Community College, Cowley College, and Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Game 1

In the opening match, FSCC scored nine runs during the last three innings to give them the victory. Cord Dobrinski, Ty Galusky, Jaret Nelson, Owen Rush, and Ayden Slott had two hits. Galusky had three RBIs, and Nelson had four, totaling 60 on the year. This was their 15th double-digit run game thus far. Chandler Fowler got the win on the mound by only allowing one run in two innings. Fowler is now 3-0 on the season with 15 strikeouts in 17 innings of work. 

Game 2

In game two, FSCC was defeated 8-9 after giving up a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. Jaret Nelson had two homeruns and five RBIs. Dobrinski and Slott both had three hits to continue their dominant day one at the plate. 

Game 3

To start day two, the score was flipped 9-8 in favor of the Greyhounds. Andrew Ryan was lights out on the mound, not allowing a hit for his second win of the season. The 7-9 hitters in the lineup were explosive, accounting for 8 of the 11 total hits: Ayden Slott (3), Tresten Shigematsu (3), and Owen Rush (2). Ty Galusky and Joey Little both had home runs during the 31st win for the Greyhounds.  

Game 4

FSCC finished the series with another double-digit scoring game for an 11-3 victory. Joey Little went three for four with five RBIs and two runs. Ayden Slott went two for four with two RBIs. Luke Stout was two for four with two runs for his 32nd on the season. JT Adams stays undefeated on the mound, striking out eight batters in 4.2 innings to close the series.  

The Hounds will return to the diamond on Thursday against Labette Community College for a noon start in Fort Scott, KS.
