The Fort Scott Community College baseball team opened up the 2018 season with a four game split against Cloud County Community College.

The teams would split the pair of doubleheaders on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, the Greyhounds would win the first game 6-5 scoring five runs in the seventh to complete the rally. FSCC talled eight hits in the game led by Quinn Waterbury as he went two for four with a double and two RBI's.

Cloud would bounce back in game two with a 6-2 win over the Greyhounds. FSCC's offense could only put together six hits, all singles with RBI's from Alexei Cazarin and Collin Fraley.

On Friday, Cloud would open the doubleheader with an 8-3 victory with their damage done in the second inning as their bats would tally six runs. Ben Kiefer would put together the only multi hit game for FSCC's offense as he went two for two with a run scored. Andrew Morrow added a hit and two RBI's.

Greyhounds would salvage the split with an 8-6 win in game two. They would score seven of their eight runs in the first three innings. Cole Soloman had a big game at the plate as he went two for three with a double and four RBI's. Ben McConnell also had a multi hit game going two for four with two runs scored.

All games were seven inning contests. The Greyhounds (2-2) are back in action on Saturday and Sunday with a pair of doubleheaders against North Central Missouri College at LaRoche Baseball Complex. Game times are at 1:00 and 4:00 each day.
