Greyhound Baseball Countdown 17 Days

Opening day is quickly approaching with 17 days to go until the first pitch of the 2016 season. Today Greyhound Baseball honors pitcher Tim Koons from Denver, Colorado. Koons in two seasons for the Hounds made 31 appearances, going 4-2 with a 4.19 ERA, and had 70 strikeouts against 22 walks. After FSCC Koons went on to pitch for Oakland University in Michigan. In two years he went 7-7 with a 3.62 ERA and compiled 143 strikeouts in 161.2 innings. Currently he is throwing for the River City Rascals in the Frontier league. Last season Tim went 11-0 with a 3.65 ERA for the rascals. Coach Hill shared his thoughts on Tim Koons:

"Tim was one of the most intelligent baseball players I have had come through the program. He instinctively had it all; from his on field routine all the way down to how many hours of sleep he got before a game. Not to mention he was a very good pitcher. I could put him in any situation and I knew he would get the job done. Tim was one of my favorite players to coach in my time at FSCC.

Greyhound Baseball is set to begin its season Feburary 13th against Cloud County at the LaRoche Complex in Fort Scott. Game time is set for 1:00.
